An elevated update for the Master Bedroom

When Jenn’s daughter entered her senior year of high school, it was important to her to update their family gallery with more recent photos. Kate met them in an urban/industrial setting and captured a set of relaxed, joyful images. The full complement of images had lots of colors that went well with the living spaces in Jenn’s home, and worked for her holiday card, but since she wanted a grouping in her mostly neutral Master, we chose to edit in cool-toned black and white. To create a feeling of airy-ness, we used a generous cream mat and a moulding color that was very close to her wall color. While we wanted the black and whites to be big enough to see from across the room, we also wanted to create calm for Jenn since the gallery was in her retreat space.

In Their Own Words
“When Kate first arrived at our home to look at our interior design colors and to get a feel for the project, I showed her the grouping of family photos in our master bedroom. I loved our past photos, of course, but the frame finishes and photos were all from a previous color scheme and it was time for a change. We had recently re-designed our color scheme and we wanted to have a family gallery that really flowed with the new look. Since we had a lot of neutrals in our palette, we chose a bisque colored frame with metallic flecks. It went so well with our colors and echoed the metallics in our other finishes and fixtures.”
